Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Moody Nose That is the curious name of this promontory with an interesting hole. It is probably named after the Moody family who lived near Hayston, about 1 mile to the north, from the 17th to 19th centuries. There are the remains of an early lime-kiln within the rampart of Crocksydam Camp, an Iron Age(?) settlement marked on the map to the north of the headland. There are also signs of quarrying for limestone within the old settlement. Many thanks to Adrian James for information in this description.
