Description

Nasceu a 20 de Abril de 1860 no Casal do Rei, freguesia N. S. dos Prazeres de Aljubarrota, concelho de Alcobaça. Manuel Viera da Natividade, por volta de 1885 o iniciador em Alcobaça das compotas de frutas.

Natividade foi, sobretudo, estudioso. Arqueólogo, etnógrafo, folclorista, investigador e escritor fértil, estudou Alcobaça e sua Região com carinho e amor deixando uma obra valiosa e extensa que não pode deixar de ser consultada por quem queira, sobre certos aspectos, estudar muita coisa sobre a Região de Alcobaça. Na sua residência organizou um interessante Museu Arqueológico, possuindo boas colecções de objectos do período neolítico, da idade do Bronze, do Ferro e do período Romano. Foi este museu organizado durante anos de árduas explorações subterrâneas do ilustre arqueólogo nas diversas grutas e algares do conselho e Alcobaça.

Faleceu a 20 de Fevereiro de 1918 e está sepultado em jazigo da Família no cemitério do Mosteiro de Alcobaça. <a href="http://www.turquel.com/pessoas/mvnativi.html" rel="nofollow">www.turquel.com/pessoas/mvnativi.html</a>
