[edit]DescriptionMonumental Move 120910-A-YO042-065.jpg |
English: Forrest Welsh, a Boy Scout with Troop 435, Guantanamo Bay listens as Navy Capt. J.R. Nettleton, U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay Commanding Officer congratulates him the completion of his Eagle Scout project which was to construct a new monument commemorating the Battle of Cuzco Well and the heroic actions of Medal of Honor recipients Marine Sgt. John Henry Quick and Marine Pvt. John Fitzgerald. Historical documentation revealed that the original monument was not only placed on the incorrect hill, but that the original commemoration plaque has the wrong dates of the battle so Welsh made it his mission to earn his Eagle Scout by constructing a new monument on the proper hill with a new plaque. |
