Einde Bartjesstraat bij Oene Ter nagedachtenis aan de bemanning van de Lancaster bommenwerper, die op donderdag 2 juni 1944 om ca 02.20 uur brandend neerstortte. Het vliegtuig viel op de plek van de twee hoogspanningsmasten, die ca 550 meter ten zuiden van dit fietspad staan.Het vliegtuig keerde terug van een bombardement op Scholven-Buer, bij Essen D) en werd beschoten door een Duitse nachtjager. Twee bemanningsleden overleefden de crash niet (KIA). Zes verlieten per parachute het brandende vliegtuig. Twee kwamen na 8 maanden omzwerven veilig in Engeland (Esc.). Eén lid werd op 2 oktober 1944 door de Duitse SD met nog 6 leden van de Apeldoornse Verzetsgroep gefussileerd. Drie werden krijgsgevangen (POW) gemaakt en opgesloten in twee krijgsgevangenkampen Stalag Luft III en VII in Polen. De namen van de bemanningsleden zijn: S/Ldr. T.B. Cole DFC Pilot POW F/Sgt. K.H.C. Ingram Flight Engineer Esc +02-10-1944 F/Lt, J. Craven DFC Navigator Esc. F/Sgt. A.G. Beresford Bomb Aimer POW F/O. E.J. Blakemore DFM Wireless Operator Esc. W/O. J.F. Lane Reserve Wireless Operator/Air Gunner KIA
