Description
Español: Monumento a Tiburcio Arnaiz, en la calle Hilera, frente a la calle Armengual de la Mota, Málaga, España. Obra de los malagueños José Antonio Rodríguez Muñoz (escultor) y Fernando Soler Romero (arquitecto). Se inauguró el 13 de mayo de 2005. Representa al padre Arnaiz de pie, a tamaño natural, vestido con el hábito jesuita y un crucifijo sobre el pecho. El pedestal es de piedra caliza, y en su cara frontal se encuentra el cristograma (JHS) con tres clavos y rodeado por una corona de espinas, emblema de la Compañía de Jesús. La inscripción en la cara frontal del pedestal del monumento dice: «R. P. Tiburcio Arnáiz S. J. / Apóstol de Málaga / por suscripción popular». En una placa cerámica a los pies del monumento se lee: «Se inauguró este monumento / el 13-V-2005 / erigido en lo que antiguamente era / El Perchel / barrio donde el P. Arnáiz se desvivió / en su entrega a los más necesitados / para que su gran acción social sirva / de ejemplo y estímulo / a todo el que por aquí pasare / A. M. D. G.».[1]
