Summary
[edit]DescriptionMonument to James Thomas and family in New Bethel churchyard (geograph 3789065).jpg |
English: Monument to James Thomas and family in New Bethel churchyard. Dominating the churchyard around New Bethel United Reformed Church is the monument erected in memory of James Thomas (1817-1901). His working life began at the age of six as a door boy in a mine. He eventually owned a colliery in Energlyn Caerphilly and other collieries in the Rhondda. He was married to a woman from the New Bethel area. She and their children are also buried here. |
