[edit]DescriptionMonument Fire - 2021-08-03 01.jpg |
English: The #monumentfire is approximately 1 mile south of Del Loma on Highway 299 on the U.S. Forest Service - Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The fire is currently mapped at approximately 9,000 acres and is 0% contained.
Crews prioritized structure assessment and point protection in the communities along the river today. They used dozer to build control lines to stop fire spread into the community of Big Bar The fire continued to spot ahead of itself across the river, and it is now established on the north side of the river. Atypical easterly winds influenced fire growth today, pushing the fire down river during the heat of the day, and steep, inaccessible slopes continue to challenge firefighters. Because of this, precautionary evacuation warnings have been issued for the down river community of Burnt Ranch. Residents along the corridor are advised to stay tuned in to local media and the Trinity County Sheriff's Office for the most updated information, and to check that they are signed up with the Code Red system. A Type 1 Incident Management Team inbriefed this morning. They will take command of the fire at 6 am tomorrow. |
