Document BANQ / Carte Postale. On accédait au funiculaire (chemin de fer incliné) par l'extrémité Ouest de ave. Duluth. De là on prenait place dans un tramway qui nous menait tout en haut du mont Royal. Un belvédère y était installé et offrait une vue imprenable vers l'Est sur tout le Plateau Mont-Royal. Au centre de la photo, figure l'église Saint-Jean-Baptiste, rue Rachel, son dôme lui donnait l'aspect d'une cathédrale. Détruite lors de l'incendie de 1911, elle fut reconstruite mais sans son dôme.Author of the above description text: Philippe Du Berger |
