Archives du Musée McCord / Henry Richard S. Bunnett (1845-1910). En fait, cet ensemble de bâtiments militaires construits sous le Régime français ( reconstitué ici par l'artiste) était situé à l'extrême Est, à l'intérieur de l'Ancien Montréal fortifié. Ce site, détruit depuis longtemps, se trouvait dans le secteur de l'ancien square Dalhousie, entre les actuelles rues Berri et Saint-Hubert. On regarde vers le Nord ici et le chemin qui longe les Casernes devait être la rue des Commissaires (actuelle rue de la Commune). |
