Description
English: After the sinking of the German passenger liner Monte Cervantes in Beagle Channel some lifeboats were carried off course by wind and stream to remote and rocky coastal areas. The passengers had to undertake a long walk through densely forested and mountainous terrain before they arrived in the city of Ushuaia.
Deutsch: Nach dem Untergang des deutschen Passagierschiffs Monte Cervantes im Beagle-Kanal vor Ushuaia wurden einige der Rettungsboote von Wind und Strömung vertrieben und an entlegene felsige Küstenabschnitte verschlagen. Ihre Insassen mussten noch einen langen Marsch durch dicht bewaldetes und bergiges Gelände auf sich nehmen, bevor sie in der Stadt ankamen.
