The large dark spot is the Cooper's Hawk that was hunting the birds. It would swoop in, and the crowd would fly super high or disperse. They also might have taken to another chimney, spooked by the hunting. Sunset time came and they still hadn't dropped. We were all wondering if there wasn't going to be a show. |
