| Description |
English: Moel Famau Jubilee Tower - South Face The Jubilee Tower was built to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of King George III. Commenced around 1810 it was never completed and the Egyptian styled tower collapsed in a storm in 1862. I believe the ruin was tidied up into a viewing platform in 1970 gaining it a countryside award - See 323761. In keeping with the Egyptian theme there are some hieroglyphs on the left hand side of the opening - See 323764. |
