lar system.The chart or table referred to consists ofa tabulated arrangement of the averagesobtained by measuring the strength ofeach of the principal groups of musclesof the body in a hundred adult women inordinary health. In making a graphicrepresentation of a persons strength, itis only necessary to place a dot at eachof the numbers on the chart correspond-ing to the results obtained by testing withthe dynamometer, and then to connectthese points with a continuous line. Thechart of an ideally symmetrical personwould exhibit a straight line runninghorizontally across the sheet. Such aperson is never found in practice, butthe greater the deviations of the line,the greater is the asymmetry of the indi-vidual examined. By the aid of the assistants whom Ihave trained for the work, I have con-structed charts for several hundred per-sons of each sex, and in a comparativestudy of them have noted many interesting facts. The following table representsthe strength of various groups of muscles
