Modern copper alloy military uniform buttons
Description
English: 3 copper alloy military uniform buttons. These are hollow plano-convex uniform buttons. The front has a crowned harp over an Irish harp with the number 18 below. Around the edge of the button is a ring of shamrocks. These buttons are almost certainly of the 18th Regiment of Foot. A very similar button is recorded on the PAS database (see NLM-8B11D4)

Button 1: Complete button with a loop at the back. Diameter: 24.23mm; thickness: 8.9mm; weight: 3.6g.

Button 2: Complete button with a loop at the back. Diameter: 24.13mm; thickness: 8.81mm; weight: 3.9g.

Button 3: Front, hollow, part of the button only survives. It is more heavily patinated that the others and is bent. Diameter: 24.37mm; thickness: 7.9mm; weight: 2.7g
