| Description |
English: Model of Metropolitan Railway Metropolitan Amalgamated 600V dc 4th rail, electric 1,200 hp Bo-Bo No.12 'Sarah Siddons'. 20 were built in 1922-23 for use on City (Aldgate) - Baker Street - Watford - Rickmansworth/Chesham - Amersham 'main line' outer suburban passenger services. Apart from 4 withdrawn in 1943-51 because of collision damage, those remaining in service were withdrawn in 1961 except for 3 which continued in use as shunters and on engineers' trains until 1973, when the last was withdrawn. Pictured at the London Transport Acton Museum Depot, 25 September 2021 with two 'Dreadnought' coaches. |
