Summary

[edit]
Description Seen here is a model of 2-8-2 Mikado locomotive # 1024, which was one of the last steamers procured for the Newfoundland Railway. A couple of pictures earlier, you saw a picture of this engine hauling 'The Overland', one of the crack express trains from the 1940s of this now defunct railway. Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in 1949, 1024 was re-classed as class R-2-d when Canadian National took over, and re-numbered# 324. The engine was scrapped in 1957.
