Description
English: Mkhedruli (Georgian: მხედრული) is the third and current Georgian script. Mkhedruli, literally meaning "cavalry" or "military", derives from mkhedari (მხედარი) meaning "horseman", "knight", "warrior" and "cavalier".
Deutsch: Mchedruli (georgisch: მხედრული [mxɛd̪ɾʊlɪ], Ritter(Schrift), im Adel entstanden): das Mchedruli entstand im 11. Jahrhundert. Es entwickelte sich aus Nuschuri durch das Abrunden der eckigen Buchstaben. Die Schrift veränderte sich langsam und bekam die heutige Form. Mchedruli ist die heute im Alltag absolut dominierende Form der georgischen Schrift.
