Die Stelle liegt füdweftlich von Deutfch-Altenburg in einer vom Burgfeld nachder Richtung des Hundsheimer Berges hin abfallenden Einfenkung des Terrains, in der Nähe desGraf Pälffyfchen Gartens und circa 800 Schritte vom romifchen Standlager entfernt. In diefer Einfenkung wurden fchon in den Jahren 1848 und 1872 ^ römifche Bäderanlagengefunden, doch waren fie in keinem Falle fo ausgedehnt wie in dem vorliegenden. Der dumpfeTon des im weiten Umkreife unterhöhlten Bodens lockte vorerft einen Schatzgräber, der demgoldenen Sarge des Attila auf der Spur zu fein glaubte, fein Zerftörungswerk zu beginnen. Diefswährte aber nur kurze Zeit, denn über Einfehreiten des Herrn Grafen Otto Traun in Petronell undnach Berichtigung der Baurefte durch Herrn Dr. Kenner und
