SOJährige Sequoia gigantea in Klein-Flottbek mit ihrem Pflanzer Carl Ansorge ■\. (Text Seite 275.) Nr. 29. Über die Einführung ausländ. Gehölze und die Beteiligung der Familie Booth daran. 273 1887. Seine Beisetzung auf dem Nienstedtener Friedhofe gestaltete sich zu einerimposanten Kundgebung aus den Kreisen der Kaufleute und ganz besonders derGärtner und früheren Angestellten der Baumschulen. John Cornelius Booth übernahm im Jahre 1868 Baumschule und Gärtnereials alleiniger Besitzer. In diesen Jahren waren in dem Betriebe mehrere Obergärtnertätig, von denen die Herren Maas^ Schmidt und Medosch noch in vieler Erinnerungsein dürften. Unter John Booth nahm die Einfuhr ausländischer Gehölze einengroßen Umfang an. Es war seine Lieblingsbeschäftigung, seltene Bäume zu pflanzenund zu pflegen.
