rochaska-Si\.o<Aioy hat Dr. Kanngießer (a. a. O.)über die »Wenzeleiche« das Folgende mitgeteilt: »Der jetzige Umfang der Eiche in1,30 m Höhe beträgt 7,20 m. Kronendurchmesser 13,73 m. Die Eiche soll derSage nach zur Zeit der Geburt des heiligen Wenzel^ etwa 903, gepflanzt worden sein.Sie sei aus einem Stab, der Wurzeln geschlagen habe, hervorgegangen. Die Eicheist hohl; ein Absud der Rinde wird vom Volk gegen Zahnschmerzen benutzt.« Die Wallensteineiche im Schloßparke zu Scheibenreut, die noch heute involler Frische prangt, ist der einzige lebendige Zeuge des letzten Marsches, der derTodesmarsch des berühmten Friedländers sein sollte. Die alte Straße oberhalb desSchlosses und des Hofes Scheibenreut führt dicht an dieser Eiche vorüber. Esdürfte nicht ohne Interesse sein, die Größenverhältnisse dieses Baumes zu erfahren. ^) Eine Körnereiche erhebt sich auch auf dem Spießberge in Thüringen. Eine Dichter-■eiche ist ferner die bei Hamburg stehende Eiche Hagedorns.
