lten Wuchs.- Gosda bei Jessen. von Seydel. Unser vorzüglicher Eichenkenner, Herr Parkdirektor Lauche in Muskau, be-fragt, ob eine korkrindige Stiel-Eiche bereits bekannt sei, gibt folgende Auskunft: Mir ist eine Quercus pedunculata mit korkartiger Kinde an jungen Zweigennicht bekannt. Allerdings erinnere ich mich dunkel, auf der Reise, ich glaube inder Schweiz, auf sehr trocknem, sonnigen Stande eine kümmerliche Eiche gesehenzu haben, die auch stark korkige Rinde zeigte. Hier im Arboret stehen 4 etwa60jährige Stiel-Eichen der weißbunten Form, die nur 6— 7 m hoch sind, und derenStämme nur 10—12 cm Durchmesser haben, also auch Kümmerlinge. Diese zeigenauch bis in die 3—4jähr. Äste hinauf stark rissige, korkartige Rinde, so daß sieim Winter mehr einer schlecht gewachsenen Rüster gleichen. Auch steht dort eineca. öojähr. Quercus tinctoria von 8—9 m Höhe und 12 cm Durchmesser, derenStamm an eine Srheinakazie oder Kork-Rüster erinnert und an etwa 5 cm starkea Tafel 23.
