II Nr. 27. L, H. Baas-Becking: Das Aboretum der »Landbouwhoogeschool« in Wageningen. ji Das Arboretum der »Landbouwhoogeschool« in Wageningen. Von Fräulein L. H. Baas-Becking, Wageningen. Das Arboretum wurde im Jahre 1900 (bei der Errichtung der damaligenReichs-Gartenbauschule) gestiftet und im landschaftlichen Stil ausgeführt; die Pflanzensind in systematischer Weise geordnet. Die Anzahl der kultivierten Arten kann nicht groß sein (jetzt + 1200 Artenund Varietäten), weil die ganze Oberfläche noch nicht 2 ha beträgt. Viele Bäumemüssen deshalb ausgehoben werden, sobald sie zuviel Platz einnehmen für ihre Um-gebung. Die größeren Gruppen werden durch Bezeichnungen auf Holzschildern an-gedeutet, wie z. B.: I I Ch.Th- Tiliaceae Hypericaceae Malvaceae Th. = ThalamifloraeCh, = Choripetalae Jede Pflanze führt eine Nummer und hat ein porzellanenes Etikett an einemteakhölzernen Kreuz mit einer Doppelnummer an der Hinterseite des Kreuzes undeiner Bezeichnung auf dem Etikett, wie
