[edit]DescriptionMitochondrial OMM and matrix in MEF DRP1-KO CCCP.png |
English: Fluorescent microscopy image of the mitochondria of a MEF cell in which the gene DRP1 has been knocked out. Even though the cell has been treated with carbonyl cyanide m-chlorophenyl hydrazone (CCCP) for 30 min, which would normally induce mitochondrial fragmentation via excessive mitochondrial fission, the lack of DRP1 prevents this effect and the mitochondria remain tubular. The image is an overlay of two images: the outer mitochondrial membrane (stained via TOMM20 and shown in red) and the mitochondrial matrix (stained via HSP60 and shown in green). Scale bar equivalent to 10 µm. |
