Description
English: Fluorescent microscopy image of the mitochondria of a HeLa cell in which the gene DRP1 has been knocked out. The cell had been treated with the mycotoxin phomoxanthone A (PXA) for 30 min. The mitochondrial structure has been severely distorted, resulting in retraction of the outer mitochondrial membrane (stained via TOMM20 and shown in red) and fragmentation of the mitochondrial matrix (stained via HSP60 and shown in green).
