| Description | That was the former portal to a large tunnel with a width of 8 m and a length of 370 m. Inside it was double tracked and led along of six chambers with stored ammunition of all types. Each chamber was about 150 m long, 10 m wide and separated by 16 m of rock from the others. Why, there was an explosion could never be clarified. It has been suggested that it was copper azide, emerged at detonators, or chemical decomposition of nitro-cellulose powder. A great mystery is that there were four incidents in ammunition depots. In the Valais (Dailly), the Grisons (Ruis), Central Switzerland and in Mitholz. And all four incidents occurred at the same time, shortly before midnight. Switzerland, July 15, 2015. (6/11) |
