Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This group of temples is about 30 km from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, in a godforsaken place. These temples as well as Gadhi Padawali and Chausath Yogini temple on a hilltop are within a few kilometres of each other. Do not expect any tourist facilities, not even drinking water.

These temples are older than Khajuraho group of temples, @ about 1400 years old. These represent the evolution of earliest style of temple architecture in North India.

These are worth UNESCO world heritage tag. Unfortunately there is no evidence of ASI taking any active interest in reconstruction of these temples. What a shame ! It is said that in earlier times the Dacoits used to take shelter there and they ensured that they are not destroyed any more that they already are. Visual evidence suggested that these temples were purposely destroyed by invaders. Its a hidden gem in the middle of India.
