Passing through the door at the farther end of the mailing room, thebookbindery is next. Not near all the machinery is shown in this picture.Here is a sewing-machine for books which cost about $1,200. Embosser,book-trimmer, and other machinery may be found in this room, costingabout $4,000. It is a fact that though the bindery did not get under fullheadway until about October 1 of last year, yet up to April 1, about25,000 volumes of books were made, and this does not include pamphletsin large quantities. Going through the bindery we enter the folding room. A view of thesouth side is given with the large paper cutter at the extreme left.
