Deutsch: Ein deutsches Team, unter Federführung des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) und des Max-Planck-Instituts für Chemie will herausfinden, wie stark sich die Einschränkungen im Zuge der COVID-19-Pandemie auf die Atmosphäre auswirken.
Im Rahmen der Forschungsmission BLUESKY werden die Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler über zwei Wochen Konzentrationen von Spurengasen und Schadstoffen in der Luft über europäischen Ballungszentren sowie im Flugkorridor nach Nordamerika messen. Dabei kommen die DLR-Forschungsflugzeuge HALO und Falcon zum Einsatz. Ziel der Forschungsflugmission ist es abzuschätzen, wie die verringerten Emissionen aus Industrie und Verkehr die Atmosphärenchemie und -physik verändern.
