CHRISTIAN LIFE AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS The Council on Christian Life and Public Affairs is made up of 20persons selected by the convention. Eight come from the General Board,while the remaining 12 are elected at-large. These persons give overallleadership to the councils staff. There have been two changes in the staff. W. Douglas Cole has recentlybeen named Director of the Division of Christian Life and Public Affairs.Earlier in the year, Ted W. Williams was named the Director of theDepartment of Aging. The Christian Life Council has been concerned with a number of moralissues during 1979. The status and health of the family is of greatimportance. In an effort to strengthen family relationships, the council hasbeen involved in marriage enrichment retreats and associational family lifeconferences. In addition, a marriage enrichment retreat was held forministers and their spouses. A family life poster has been printed and isbeing made available to churches. More than 700 North Carolina Bapti
