This act of justice must <omnieml itself to every true Americanpatriot, and will place the name of Jefferson Davis where it rightfullybelongs as a matter of history; therefore, be it Resolved, That we. the Tinted Confederate Veterans, do expressour appreciation to the Cubed Slates Government for this recognt-nili.ni of the services of Jefferson Davis as Secretary ot War,and for this further proof of the desire of the Federal Government toblot out all that remains of sectional prejudice and thus unite this greatpeople under one banner; and, furthermore, be it Resolved, That we express our thanks to the Confederated SouthernMemorial Association for its action in bringing this subject so forciblyto the minds and attention of officials at Washington by the adoption of aresolution to this effect at the annual convention in Richmond, June 1,1007.
