Description Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak addresses the graduating class of military cadets. Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak was appointed by President Hamid Karzai as the Defense Minister of Afghanistan on 23 December 2004. The National Military Academy of Afghanistan awarded bachelor's degrees to 299 newly commissioned officers who will serve in any of the 11 branches of the Afghan National Army.
