Summary
[edit]DescriptionMiniature vase (46058060634).jpg |
A miniature vase owned by the Medici family, on display at the Cleveland Museum of Art in Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States. The vase itself is agate, carved between 1 and 100 AD in Italy by an unknown artisan. The base and handles are emeralds, enamel, gold, and rubies, and were added by an unknown artisan between 1550 and 1589 for the Medici family. Replacement and conservation work was done in the late 1700s. The vase was gifted to the Galleria degli Uffizi in Florence, Italy, in 1743 by the last Medici heir. |
