| Description |
English: Minewatchers' Post. Counting from west to east, this is the third of three minewatchers' posts that are located along the northern shore of the River Clyde between Bowling Outer Basin and the Erskine Bridge. It stands on the shore almost directly beneath the Erskine Bridge.
Its role is explained in the description of the first of the three posts: 1481085. For the second structure, see: 1493370. The second and third structures are built to the same plan (slightly different from that of the first), but this third structure is intact, while the front wall of the second one has fallen away. There may be further structures located upstream, but the shoreline there is occupied by various businesses, and is therefore much less accessible. |
