Von 1669-1906 hatte die preußische Regierung ihren Sitz an der Stelle des ehemaligen bischöflichen Hofes. Der ständig wachsende Raumbedarf führte bald zu Um- und Erweiterungsbauten. 1826 wurde das Nachbargebäude Großer Domhof 2 mit einbezogen, das sechs Jahre später augestockt werden mußte. Ab 1869 gehörte auch das nördlich anschließende ehemalige Kuriengebäude zur Regierung. Das heutige Haus am Domhof 1 ist ein Neubaun vo 1846/4 [...] Vorgänger, den ein Brand stark besch[...] war unmittelbar an d[...]. Eine Tordurchfahrt [...] de Verbindung zwischen G[roßem] und Kleinem Domhof. Mit dem Neubau wurde eine s[traß]enbreite Passage zwischen den Geböuden geschaffen. Beim Wiederaufbau 1947/48 nach Kriegszerstörungen erhielt das Stadt[...] Uhrturm mit Zweibelhaube. [...Englische Übersetzung...]
