St. Marienkirche
Die Marienkirche wurde als Klosterkirche von Benediktinerinnnen errichtet. Sie hatten ihr von Bischof Milo gestiftetes Kloster um 1000 vom Wittekindsberg in die Stadt verlegt. In der 2. Hälfte des 12. Jhs. entstand eine Kirche über einem kreuzförmigen Grundriß. Sie wurde im 14. Jh. in der Breite der Seitenschiffe zu einer Hallenkirche erweitert. Wie bei anderen großen Kirchen Mindens ist der Bau mit Quersatteldächern versehen, die beide Seitenschiffe überdecken. Seit der Reformation 1530 war das Kloster ein evangelisches, adliges Damenstift. Während der Franzosenzeit wurde das Stift verstaatlicht und seit 1810 als Festungsbauhof genutzt. Bis auf Reste des mittelalterlichen Kreuzganges wichen 1973 die ehemaligen Stiftsgebäude dem Neubau eines Gemeindezentrums.
