| Description |
English: Milnsbridge This was the real heartland of the Colne Valley textile industry and a plume of steam indicates that part of the huge complex that was John Crowther is still active. The two bright mills, foreground and centre, are Burdett Mills and Union Mills and are now housing. Left background with the chimney is George Street Mills on its way down.
Anybody who gets soppy about this view should find themselves a copy of "Made in Huddersfield" by Jack Ramsay (1989). I can see it from here. |
