Deutsch: Fresko "Georgslegende" von 1513 im Westflügel des romanischen Kreuzgangs im Stift Millstatt in Millstatt / Kärnten / Österreich. Bildbeschriftung: Szenen der Georgslegende. Fresko datiert 1513. Hl. Georg zu Pferd im Drachenkampf umgeben von Szenen der Georgslegende - Mitte oben: Götzenbild auf einer Säule und Tempel, vorne kniend und betend hl. Georg, darüber in Kreisschiebe die Hand Gottes; daneben rechts über dem Fenster Enthauptung; links hl. Georg vor einem König mit Gefolge. Im Mittelgrund links hl. Georg vor zwei Männern in prächtiger Renaissancekleidung. Votivbild anlässlich des Todes eines Georgsritters. Schule des Thomas von Villach (?) English: Stift Millstatt, cloister, painting: Saint George and the Dragon. Millstatt Abbey near Spittal an der Drau / Carinthia / Austria / EU. |
