Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Millers Point, NSW - Dwellings & Gasometer, Gas Lane circa 1909-1913 (City of Sydney Archives). Description at source reads, "Single-storey brick and corrugated iron roof houses (possibly numbers 3, 5 and 7) adjoining a commercial building of painted sandstone and brick. In the background is a storage tank with decorative circular frame. A man holding a sheet of paper stands outside houses at end of the lane and a group of children sit on the footpath and roadway reading. Broad street is wood-blocked. Gas Lane was earlier Gas Street, purchased by the Australian Gas Light Company from the Jenkins family in 1840 - part of Sydney's first gas works."
