| Description |
English: Millennium Green, Oughtibridge The Millennium Green was developed from some 'waste ground' in, not surprisingly, 2000. This land in the centre of the village, on the corner of Church Street and Langsett Road North, was the site of Haywards Butchers and Abattoirs and a row of Cottages ... demolished in the mid 1970s. The Millennium Stone in the centre of the picture is carved to reflect the sights and industry of the local area. For a long time this stone has remained 'graffiti' free ... but sadly has now succumbed. The White Hart Inn is shown in the background. Westnall House (not shown) is opposite this area. |
