| Description |
English: Millennium Festival Trail: Nine Houses - No 6 The Chester Millennium Festival Trail is a route that was created in the year 2000, and which winds through the city passing 40 buildings of architectural interest. Waymarker No.6 is NINE HOUSES, and the design is entitled "The door is an image of security for the almshouses". It is set into the pavement in front of the old almshouses, which were built around 1650. Now only six remain, but they were restored in 1969, and continue to be known as the Nine Houses.
The next waymarker on the trail is the Roman Amphitheatre No 7, which had been removed during pavement works but has now been replaced: 1237695 |
