| Description |
English: Mill Hills Lane An ancient lane leading down to the ford and stepping stones over the Swale below Marrick. To the right is an earthwork forming a high bank along the lane side. This may be an early medieval boundary, or possibly the limit of a medieval deer park. The lane was most likely used by pack animals transporting lead from mines above Marrick and Hurst to Jervaulx Abbey, the ancient way continuing south of the B6270 over the moor towards Leyburn. |
