| Description | Last night was a new moon and I finally tried to do some night sky photography after thinking about if for quite awhile. This is my first attempt at this. I followed some of the advice I found on line but I should have tried at some much larger ISO settings. I went to Fort Popham as it has some easy access to southward skies. There was more ambient light than I wanted and I left lots of it in. It took alot of moving sliders and other manipulations to get this image. The images all had blue and red banding that I managed to diminish some here. There were a couple of light houses as can be seen. It looks like there may be a satellite trace on the left. I am not sure what the streak on the right is. Saturn is visible--if I only knew which one. I think the bright spot in the milky way area is Antares. Suggestions and comments are welcome. |
