Anna Schultz, a veterinarian with Vilseck Veterinary Treatment Facility, gives professional instructions to U.S. Soldiers with 131st Military Police Detachment Grafenwoehr, during a collaborative exercise with Company C, 1st Battalion, 214th Aviation Regiment, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade to simulate field care, loading, transport, and in-route emergency medical care for military working dogs (MWD), Vilseck, Germany, Oct. 20, 2020. MWD handlers worked with animal care specialists and flight medics to better understand the principles of safe evacuation procedures and emergency care of MWD’s, while the training helped the dogs get better acclimated to the sights, sounds, and feel of a medical evacuation situation.
