| Description |
English: Milestone and Reeds, Macclesfield Canal, Cheshire. The unusual gravestone style milestone is one of the original markers which was removed during World War II to prevent assisting invaders! These stones, peculiar to the Macclesfield Canal have been put back by the Macclesfield Canal Society. This one shows the reverse of that seen in 576279 and reveals that in the direction of view, it is 24 miles from Marple. |
