Description
English: As this plaque states, the Grey Castle (Graues Schloss) in Mihla, Wartburgkreis, Thuringia, Germany, is a certified bat friendly building. The listed cultural heritage monument is used as a hotel and restaurant.
Deutsch: Wie diese Plakette anzeigt, ist das denkmalgeschützte Graue Schloss in Mihla, Wartburgkreis, Thüringen, Deutschland, vom Thüringer Ministerium für Landwirtschaft, Naturschutz und Umwelt als fledermausfreundliches Gebäude zertifiziert worden. Denn während der wärmeren Monate des Jahres ist auf einem Teil des Dachbodens eine Kolonie von rund 500 Großen Mausohren und etwa einem Dutzend Breitflügelfledermäusen beheimatet. Das allabendliche Ausschwärmen der Fledermäuse lässt sich gut vom Biergarten des Hotels und Restaurants aus verfolgen. Die mit dem Zeichen markierten Privathäuser, Kirchen, öffentlichen Gebäude und Einrichtungen besitzen jeweils auf ihrem Gelände nachgewiesene Schlaf- und Nistplätze für einheimische Fledermäuse. Die Plakette macht Besucher auf diese Besonderheit aufmerksam.
