Middle Saxon tweezers
Description
English: One incomplete arm of a pair of Middle Saxon tweezers, loop missing, inturned blade, decorated, between lightly engraved lines following the sides, with ten punched ring-and-dots. Three round perforations near the top are the result of over-vigorous punching. The break at the top is across one such hole. Length >46mm. Minimum width 3mm. Maximum width 11mm. The form can be compared with that of an example from Middle Harling (HER 6033, EAA 74, 62, fig. 43 no. 80). 8th – 9th century.
