English: Mid Cameron: north-western ruin See 1714306 for the main description of the various remains that are visible at this location.
This building is divided by transverse walls into four parts; from west to east, these are: two narrow spaces at the western end (the photograph is a view eastwards, taken from the wall between those two chambers), a large room in the middle of the structure, and another narrow space at the eastern end. The large room is the one that is shown at the centre of this photo. As for the two narrow rooms at the western end, the more easterly one has a small enclosure built into its north-western corner: 1714740. The very narrow easternmost chamber (the one furthest from the photographer) cannot be seen clearly from this viewpoint; however, it is included in another view of the building, as it appears from the east: 1714761. Beyond the receding walls of the house, the Campsie Hills can be seen in the background. |
