Description
English: A mid-20th century brown-glass beer bottle from the J.B. Almond brewery on School Lane in Standish, Lancashire. J.B. Almond was founded in the village in 1870 and was sold to Burtonwood Breweries in 1968. According to the marks on the base of the bottle, it was produced sometime between 1938 and 1968 by United Glass Bottle Manufacturers in their Kinghorn factory. The marks on the base read: "K 291 9 1 U G B". This face of the bottle reads "J.B. ALMOND".
