Description
English: This is a notched and backed microlith. There is no retouch on the ventral face. The dorsal face has a high central ridge. The semi-abrupt flake removal to the right cretaes a sharp edge, the proximal third of which has been retouched to create a notch. The edge above the notch is finely serrated, possibly from use wear. The left margin has subparallel abrupt retouch. The tip has been broken off, but would have been a point.

The flint is opague cream in colour. It has only tertiary cortex, so its origin is uncertain, but it is likely to be from a local beach pebble.

Butler illustrates a similar piece on Page 93 Fig 35 Nos 5 which he places in Clark's Group B (see page 92) and dates to the later Mesolithic.
