Description

Michel Madhusudan Datto a great name in Bengali Literature. He was born in Sagardari, Jessore. Sagardari is a village in the river bank of Kapotaksho. Madhusudan Datto become famous by his poem and the river kapotaksho also become a literal river by the writing of Madhusudan Datto.

But it is to say that the village Sagordari and the river Kapotaksho are also illusive with their natural beauty.

Now Michel Madhusudan Datto is no more on earth but his native place is now a historical place. Everyday enormous visitors come here to seek similarity of the depiction that had been narrated by Madhusudan Datto through his poem about his mother land and the river Kapotaksho. Also a very spelendid fair take place here in the river bank of Kapotaksho. In that time this place take a very festive look. This fair named as “Modhumela” and held every year at the last week of January to celebrate the birthday of the poet.

If anybody wants to visit the place then the last week of January Is the favourable time to come and to enjoy the magical river Kapotaksho, the Madhumela and also the typical rural culture of Bangladesh .
